The AMAZING Glow Room created by Ms. Beaulieu and students.
None of this could have happened without the combined efforts of so many people! A special thank you to Mrs. Dunford, Mrs. Larkin and Mrs. Murley for helping behind the scenes and the night of the event. Collaboration is the magic formula that produces moments like these for our students.
We had several other teachers who were planning to attend, sometimes conflicts arise but they still helped with setting up for our event and we are thankful!
Thank you to Miss Evans for setting up her live animal station! Thank you to Mrs. Fasula and Mrs. Lerner for building bridges all night with so many students. We loved seeing all of the thinking and trial and error at this station~
Thank you to Miss Aimee from the Exeter Library and Miss Annette from the Louttit Library for spending time with us and being part of the fun and adventure!
Thank you to Joanne Kenyon, Donna O'Connell, Steve Bailey and his crew from the High School. These are the people who helped with set-up and break-down allowing us to be very creative with our set-up for the night. We were able to move tables and rugs from all over the building so that the children had the right type of setting for each challenge.
Thank you to Bonnie Blair and her sidekick for coming in to pop all of that popcorn we were able to provide for snacks! Also, to Roch's Market! Thanks to them we had some healthy snacks to keep us fueled while we worked so hard at learning! Thanks, Mrs. Murley for keeping our snack station replenished!
Mrs. Moriarty spent the entire night over by the Jenga and balancing game station. She never tired of showing children how to play and we are not sure who had more fun, her or the kids?
Thanks to Mrs. Corsi for keeping our boat building station afloat all night long!
Mrs. Titus kept our writing station and paper airplane area running smoothly and wore her red cape so well! We have so many Superheroes at Wawaloam School!
Mrs. Corcoran was there the whole night too! If you missed it, she set up a coding station and guided children as they showed their parents how to think like a scientist through the use of code.org She is our whole school technology support person and we learn from her all the time!
We also are so appreciative of Mr. Fulford (Superman) who built and stayed all night guiding the children through an engineering challenge at our Hot Wheels station!
Mrs. Scheff stayed on after the concert and ran the jumping station, which means she wrote the name of every jumper on masking tape and labeled the floor so children could see the data on how far everyone landed........ that was a lot of work!!
Mr. McGrane kept our lego station challenges exciting and fun.... you could only see smiles and hear laughter in that area!
We are grateful to the Exeter Fire Marshal, Susan Hawkley who came to make sure everyone was safe during our event. If you see her around our town, be sure to thank her!
Did you see that giant "Connect 4" game? What a hit! Thank you, PTA for helping us to acquire a new learning adventure! Think strategy, planning, logistics, puzzles, and fun!
We are also thankful for our Gems-Net partners for continuing to support and inspire a love and passion for teaching science to our students. This group comes to help lead our teaching and guides our Professional Development.
We hope you enjoyed the event- tell us what you loved so we can begin planning for next year!
