Computer Science for Rhode Island (CS4RI) is among the most comprehensive statewide computer science (CS) initiatives in the country. CS4RI takes a coalition approach by combining national leadership with homegrown talent to reduce barriers to providing quality computer science education and professional development, and will bring CS learning opportunities to all Rhode Island schools in the years ahead.
Next week, we will be demonstrating Hour of Code for all Grade 1 classes during the Library special with Mrs. Gagner. We are excited to be able to participate in this initiative and we hope the children will share their experience with this at home with you!

Congratulations to Mrs. Cohen's, Mrs. Donnelly's and Mrs. Lerner's class on collecting the most bees for the month of November! These 3 classes earned an extra recess for their teamwork this month!
We are so proud of all of our students for working so hard using a team approach when they are walking in the halls! We appreciate all of your support with efforts like these!
We also appreciate the continued communication about "small issues". We say this because every child deserves to feel safe every day at school. Even a minor exchange of unpleasantries at recess can cause a child to feel stressed for the remainder of the day.
We have communicated to all children how important it is to report problems they have and to let us know if they need help but we understand that this does not always come easy for all children. Know that we are here to listen and to work as hard as we can to make sure your children have the best day possible every day.
Please let us know at the onset of an issue how we can get involved to remedy these type of situations. We will offer strategies and will encourage children to stand up for themselves and others.
We hope to see many of you at the Holiday Bazaar at Metcalf on Saturday! There are still plenty of opportunities to help! Consider signing up for a spot to volunteer, you will have so much fun!
